MWEG Immigration Leads Travel to Washington, D.C. to Meet with Senators and Representatives
“We have worked hard and long to push for ethical, fair, and compassionate immigration reform in our country. Our members of Congress have had months to come up with a legislative solution that would provide protection to DREAMers, and they have failed to get it done. The March 5th deadline is now mere days away. Many have given up all hope. But we have not. Our immigration committee is working tirelessly behind the scenes on something that we hope might spur some of the more principled of our elected representatives into action. But it may take divine intervention. And so that’s what we are asking for. And we ask you to join us in this appeal to heaven by praying and fasting with us this coming Sunday, February 25th.”
“In addition to the visits/deliveries to the district offices of members of Congress that many of you are helping with this week and next, our Immigration committee leads will be traveling to Washington D.C. to meet with key senators and representatives on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (Feb 26-28) to discuss a proposal that has been long in the making. We need you all to pray very specifically that doors will be opened and hearts will be softened. Please pray, too, for our committee leads, Diana Bate Hardy, Molly Hogan, and Yvette Farnsworth Baker, that they will be filled with the spirit and have the courage, the diplomacy, the boldness, and the wisdom to be able to say what needs to be said and do what needs to be done.”
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man [or woman] availeth much.” (James 5:16)
