The coronavirus pandemic has brought into sharp relief the degree to which we are all interconnected. We prayerfully plead that we meet this knowledge not with selfishness or indifference, but instead with a renewed determination to work together to mitigate exposure and suffering. We are deeply troubled by Governor Abbottâs decision to reject refugee resettlement in the state of Texas. The new court decision striking down President Trumpâs executive order means the governorâs refusal will not stand, but his letter made it clear he does not believe new refugees are welcome. We decry this decision of exclusion and strongly encourage him to reconsider it.
