Official Statement From Mormon Women for Ethical Government on the Conclusion of the Mueller Investigation

March 23, 2019

As our nation awaits news on the contents and conclusions of the Mueller report, we remind Attorney General William P. Barr of his stated commitment to transparency. Politicians and pundits on both sides of the aisle have politicized this investigation in ways that served their own purposes while further dividing the American people. Now Attorney General Barr has the opportunity to prevent further disunity and distrust by releasing a full declassified version of the report to Congress and the American public.

We urge our fellow citizens of every political persuasion to resist the efforts of those who would benefit from continued division and suspicion. We must put aside our predetermined ideas and commit to being open-minded and accepting of whatever truths are revealed by this investigation. It is probable that the full report contains information that will challenge the assumptions and predictions of all sides, and it is crucial that as a nation we approach the facts that have been uncovered with a firm commitment to truth, and that we then move forward in unity to restore public confidence in our most important democratic systems and institutions.
