“Allowing foreign governments into our election process puts our democracy and our citizenry in danger. A foreign interest is always just that — foreign and not American. Our leaders must zealously guard our interests and democratic institutions. Our elected representatives are sworn to protect these institutions through rules of law and political norms. Kamala Harris questioning Judge Kavanaugh as to whether he had discussed the ongoing Mueller investigation with anyone associated with the law firm headed by President Trump’s personal lawyer, Marc Kasowitz. As Judge Kavanaugh danced around and avoided the question, you interrupted to say that it was unrealistic to expect him to know all the different lawyers in the Washington, D.C. area.
