Official Statement by Mormon Women for Ethical Government on Environmental Stewardship and Climate Change
October 19, 2018 The recently released report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) highlights the deleterious effects of global climate change. MWEG Op-Ed: “An Open Letter to Sen. Mike Lee”
“We have been following the Senate hearings for Judge Brett Kavanaugh and recently watched the video of Sen. Kamala Harris questioning Judge Kavanaugh as to whether he had discussed the ongoing Mueller investigation with anyone associated with the law firm headed by President Trump’s personal lawyer, Marc Kasowitz. MWEG Opinion: “An Open Letter to Sen. Hatch”
“As an organization of over 6,000 women, many of whom are your constituents, share your faith, and have worked closely with you and your staff, we are dismayed at your continued defense of things that are fundamentally indefensible. Knowing that you aspire to be a man of honor, we are puzzled by your frequent wresting of truth and logic as you excuse our current administration.” Click here for the full text of this Salt Lake Tribune opinion piece written by Mormon Women for Ethical Government.

Official Statement from MWEG in Defense of Truth
As Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in our 2016 elections continues, we at Mormon Women for Ethical Government reaffirm our commitment to defending long-standing principles of democracy and respect for the rule of law. The health and strength of our nation depend upon a citizenry that is well informed, civically engaged, and willing to put our country above partisan politics. We must stand up for truth, protect the integrity of the investigations which seek to uncover the truth, and defend the first amendment rights that allow good journalists to publish truth. Then we must create the political will to ensure that our political leaders do not brush…
